Celebrities and Their Car Insurance
How Celebrities protect their most prized Possession
It’s true: celebrities do get designer clothes and apparel from Calvin Klein, Burberry, and John Varvatos, vacations, and even the newest iDevices for free. However, cars and the insurance policies that protect them make a dent in their pocket just like they do to ours.
What’s more, it’s likely that that they own more than one car. You would think that that would increase their annual premiums to astronomical numbers but that’s not necessarily true. In fact, Aviva says that “the more cars you insure, the more you save.” Most, if not all, insurance companies offer Multicar schemes which have discounts for an owner’s other car.
We can’t keep track of all the cars owned by celebrities because they probably buy a new one and sell an old one every so often. Although we do know how much they paid for their most visible car as well as an estimate of its annual premium. Check out the list below.
The Black Mamba moved to Italy when he was six and is fluent in the language, too. It’s no wonder then that he owns a 458 Italia by Ferrari, which cost him $233,575 and a little bit over $5,500 annually to maintain his insurance. For rare piece of Ferrari, we’re not surprised about his insurance cost.
Unbeknownst to most of the eponymous fans, Jerry Seinfield is an avid collector of Porsches. His 595 cost him a cool $500,000. This is apart from his $5,600 in insurance premiums annually. That’s small change for a man who allegedly rented a hangar at Santa Monica Airport to house his vehicles.
The artist people love to hate owns a Lamborghini Aventador that cost around $370,000. The sheer rarity of the car, made him pay over $9,000 in insurance every year.
The American comedian with Irish origins, Conan owns a 1992 Ford Taurus which costs around $2,300. The annual premium he pays is almost a joke, a little less than $800.
The one man who has yet to win an Oscar drives a Toyota Prius which costs almost $24,000. The car is easy on the environment and on the wallet, too. Its annual insurance comes to a little over $1,300.
Beyonce’s better half owns a Maybach Exelero Sports Coupe which comes to about $450,000 which has an annual premium of over $11,000. That’s the price of exclusivity.
Just like us, our favorite celebrities also understand the importance of insuring their most prized possessions. Do you know other celebs who spends thousands on their auto premiums?
