We love to take road trips once in a while. It’s a good way to take a break from the hustle and bustle of life, the seemingly endless monotony of work. It a good way to see the country, enjoy some of the sights that mother-nature has to offer.
Road trips, however, are not something lots of people are not used to taking. So, if you’re thinking of taking a road trip, perhaps for your next vacation, or it’s just one of those things on your bucket list, here are a few tips to make your trip successful and more enjoyable.
Inspect your Tyres
Even if your journey won’t be taking you off the road, you still should make sure your tyres are in optimal shape. Check for cracks, punctures and other damages. Also check your tyre treading, as this will affect how fast your car stops especially on a wet day. If your tread is below 3mm, then it’s high time you changed the tyres. So all you need to do is get to your tyre supplier in dubai and pick yourself some tyres. Falken tyres price is affordable, the quality is excellent, so this is a brand that you should consider while shopping for tyres.
Check Your Car Fluids
These would include your oils, transmission fluid, antifreeze, water for your radiator, windshield washer fluid and all. Don’t also forget to take at least an extra bottle of oil or two for your car and a few bottles of water for your radiator. And if your oil needs to be changed then get it changed, it’s only by taking a look at it that you can change it.
Take Your Car To the Service Station
If you don’t have the time to do the above things, you could just take your car to a service station, and they‘ll run a check for you and fix all that needs to be fixed in your car. This will include those things you can’t fix on your own such as aligning your tyres, checking your brake pads and more. This will cost you more though, but you can rest easy knowing that all that needs to be fixed has been taken care of.
Check Your Tool kit
Make sure you pack wrenches, jack, screwdrivers, jumper cable, pliers, knife torch light with fresh batteries, you don’t know when and if all these things might come into need.
Plan Your Route
You should know the route you want to take, and also make sure your route is programmed into your GPS. Apart from that also pack a map and study it ahead of time, you never can tell what might happen to your GPS.
Carry Cash and First Aid Box
You might need to pay for tolls, or buy things from road side vendors. Of course cards and smart phone can pay for about anything; yet again it is good to always be prepared. A first aid box is important, little things such as aspirin, methlylated spirits, bandages might come in handy, no one can really tell how thing will go.
This is not by any means an exhaustive list of things you need to do to prepare for a road trip, but they’ll cover most of it. Just remember to have fun, don’t rush the trip, take it at a leisurely pace and enjoy yourself.
